Overview
In the 1920s, architect Addison Mizner transformed what was a small town into a thriving seaside community with his colorful Spanish architecture. Mizner Park, named in his honor, offers entertaining concerts and events at its well-known Amphitheatre. The Boca Raton Museum of Art also lies within the park, with an extensive collection of art and enriching programs. With so much to do at Mizner Park, it may be hard to leave.
There’s plenty more to experience throughout this fair city, from golf courses to world-class shopping and entertainment. Located in Palm Beach County, Boca offers everything you’d expect from a southern Florida beach town and so much more. Posh mansions and oversized yachts dot the harbor. While further inland, Town Center provides some epic shopping experiences, great dining and lively nightlife.

Explore the lush grounds, cool fountains, chic shopping and marina access of the palatial pink Boca Beach Club, a Waldorf Astoria resort first opened in 1926. Play a round of golf and enjoy the spectacular sandy beaches along South Ocean Boulevard.
Visit the educational Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, where you can walk through a lush tropical forest. Inside, view turtles, sharks and other wildlife. Explore some of the town’s remarkable parks, such as Red Reef Park, Sugar Sand Park and Spanish River Park. Check out the historic mid-20th century railway cars at the Boca Express Train Museum. Dine on some of South Florida’s finest cuisine.
When to Go
Daytime temperatures are most ideal during the winter and fall, generally ranging from mid-70s F to the mid-80s. Summers can be hot and rainy, perfect for watersports and sunbathing on Boca Raton’s glorious beaches.
Fast Facts
Boca Raton is located in southeast Florida between Deerfield and Delray beaches. Back in 1974, expansive Mizner Park was an enclosed shopping mall. It reopened in 1992 as an eclectic center for shopping, dining, and living.
Enjoy free entertainment at its huge outdoor amphitheatre. Boca’s Wick Theatre houses a costume museum with more than 1.2 million pieces, including Angela Lansbury's gold pantsuit from “Mame” and Richard Burton's costumes from “Camelot.”
There was once a theme park in Boca called Africa U.S.A. without any fences between visitors and animals. Although it closed in 1960s, relatives from some of the park’s peacocks still roam the area. Renowned pop star, Ariana Grande, was born in Boca Raton.
