What To Do
Garden of the Gods – Perched 6,400 feet above sea level, this geological marvel at the intersection of the Great Plains, the woodlands of the American Southwest and the mountain forests of the Rockies is home to Pikes Peak and dramatic rock formations. There are more than 15 miles of trails to accommodate hikers of all fitness levels
Pikes Peak – At a magnificent 14,500 feet, this is the highest mountain in southern Front Range of the Rockies. Hike up to the summit, or take the cog railway for a scenic ride to the top of America’s Mountain
Royal Gorge Region – Traverse America’s highest suspension bridge, go whitewater rafting or ziplining, navigate the one-way Skyline Drive, discover dinosaur fossils or enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting at Holy Cross Abbey. Here, the adventures are as extreme as you want them to be.
Manitou Incline -This extreme 2,768-step trail was originally built as a cable-car route. After the cable car was damaged, the railroad ties remained, becoming a challenging pedestrian trail – its 2,000-foot elevation gain includes inclines as steep as 65 degrees in some sections.
