About Ushuaia
Explore Argentina
Overview
Ushuaia is a vibrant town and preferred port for Antarctica cruises. Skiing is big here, and the best slopes can be found at nearby Cerro Castor Ski Resort, which has one of the longest ski seasons in South America. Ushuaia, where Darwin formed his revolutionary theory of evolution, is also where the Andes meet the Beagle Channel and the visitor meets adventure, whether it be exploring nearby Tierra del Fuego National Park or setting sail for Antarctica. Those who prefer to stay in town are rewarded with world-class museums, marine wildlife, traditional Fuegan cuisine and a cornucopia of quality craft beers.
When to Go
Due to the fact that Ushuaia is one of the southernmost towns on Earth, the best time to visit is in summer, which in the Southern Hemisphere is from December to March, when the weather is the most moderate.
