What To Do

Attend one (or several) of Edinburgh’s numerous summertime festivals, including the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

When to Go

The weather in Scotland can vary widely between regions, and it’s not uncommon to for the weather to change at a moment’s notice, or to experience all four seasons in a single day.

Summertime is the best time to visit, with temperatures averaging in the high 50s and low 60s F and an average of 17 hours of daylight. 

Spring is a magical time in Scotland, when and the flowers are in full bloom and the cherry blossoms bursting with color. 

Winter temperatures average in the 30s and low 40s. Scotland sees about 15-20 days of snow each year.
