About Geelong
Explore Victoria
Overview
Geelong, Victoria’s second-largest city, is also the gateway to the Great Ocean Road, one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives. Some of the city’s top sights include the Geelong Botanical Gardens, the fourth oldest botanic garden in Australia; Narana Aboriginal Cultural Center, which seeks to build an understanding of Aboriginal histories and culture; and Cunningham Pier, a Geelong landmark.
When to Go
The best time to visit Geelong is spring and autumn when the weather is mild and pleasant and the crowds fewer. Keep in mind that Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, so spring is September to November and autumn is March to May.
