The world-renowned and aptly named Surfers Paradise Beach is a mecca for surfers from across the globe. Tee off at one of two championship golf courses and enjoy world-class shopping at Sanctuary Cove. The Gold Coast is also home to some of Australia’s most popular theme parks, including Dreamworld, Sea World, and Warner Bros. Movie World. However, the Gold Coast is not all about theme parks and beaches; it also boasts a subtropical hinterland of rainforests and waterfalls, including the Gondwana Rainforests, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
When to Go
The best time to visit the Gold Coast is spring and autumn when the weather is mild and pleasant and the crowds fewer. Keep in mind that Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, so spring is September to November and autumn is March to May.
