About Northern Territory
Explore Northern Territory
Overview
The Northern Territory is home to Australia’s Red Centre, an awe-inspiring landscape of desert plains, majestic mountain ranges, rocky gorges, and some of Aboriginal Australia’s most sacred sites. Northern Territory towns that should top any itinerary include Alice Springs, a resort oasis surrounded by the stunning MacDonnell Ranges, and Darwin, the state’s capital.
When to Go
The best time to visit the Northern Territory is spring and autumn when the weather is milder. Keep in mind that Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, so spring is September to November and autumn is March to May.
