About Byron Bay
Explore New South Wales
Overview
Byron Bay is known for its laidback lifestyle, creative community, and world-class food scene. Some of its must-see sights include Arakwal National Park, where you will find seemingly endless Tallow Beach; Wategos Beach, a picturesque and secluded stretch of sand popular with surfers and swimmers; and The Pass, one of the region’s best surf spots.
When to Go
The best time to visit Byron Bay is spring and autumn when the weather is mild and pleasant and the crowds fewer. Keep in mind that Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, so spring is September to November and autumn is March to May.
