Overview
The majestic Illawarra Escarpment provides a scenic backdrop to the city. When to Go
The best time to visit Wollongong is spring and autumn when the weather is mild and pleasant and the crowds fewer. Keep in mind that it is in the Southern Hemisphere, so spring is September to November and autumn is March to May.

Wollongong City Beach - Directly fronting the city, Wollongong's most popular beach is the home to the famed Wollongong Surf Life Saving Club and one of its most attractive stretches of sand.
